Machinery and Equipment

Machinery and equipment fires and explosions are a large and varied class of loss, some of which can be quite complex. Fires and explosions in these losses range from a small fire in a single, simple machine to large fires in multiple interrelated machines like a printing press.

Our NAFI-certified fire and explosion investigators (CFEI) are experienced in investigating machinery and equipment fires including agricultural, textile, metal processing, and transportation and printing machinery. We have investigated fires involving machinery such as compressors, generators, trash compactors, conveyors, ovens and kilns, textile machines, printing presses, paint finishing systems and many others.

Our engineers and fire investigators perform investigations in accordance with the latest editions of NFPA 921, and are frequently called to serve as expert witnesses. They are known for their ability to accurately and concisely explain the causes of and spread of fires and communicate in an easy to understand manner whether speaking to insurance adjusters, attorneys or juries. Additionally, we often determine the scope of damage, repairability, and cost to repair or replace machinery and equipment that caused or was damaged by a fire.
