Claire Benedict, P.E., is a structural engineer specializing in the forensic evaluation of residential, commerical, and industrial construction. Claire provides engineering analysis, site investigations, expert consultation, and litigation support involving construction defects, structural failure, moisture intrusion, and building envelope performance.
She has more than 10 years of engineering experience in the civil/structural field specializing in building design, building components, and foundation systems analysis. Claire earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
From her experience in manufacturing and construction support, Claire has designed and analyzed structures, supervised designers and drafters, prepared construction documents (drawings and specifications), and provided on-site duties for field supervision and inspection of construction projects. She has designed retrofits to existing structures in addition to providing instructions on repairing construction defects.
As a forensic engineer, Claire determines the root cause of structural and construction related failures and evaluates the extent of resulting damage. She communicates the results of her investigations in clear verbal and written reports for our clients.
