Spontaneous Combustion
Spontaneous Combustion
The ignition of a fire from spontaneous heating is not science fiction fantasy, although the occasionally rumored spontaneous human combustion remains in the science fiction realm. In reality, businesses such as construction, agriculture, wood processing, and those applying stains and other coatings often experience fires resulting from spontaneous combustion. It is a very real fire cause that requires substantial skills and experience to investigate.
During the course of an investigation, our team has the necessary skills and experience to properly analyze the circumstances of the incident and evaluate the conditions that were present to determine if spontaneous combustion is a viable cause of a fire. In addition, we have experience in setting up and performing laboratory testing for given conditions to evaluate and demonstrate the potential for spontaneous combustion to occur.
We provide timely origin, cause and damage assessments by highly specialized investigators. In fact, our origin and cause investigators and engineers are certified fire and explosion investigators (CFEI) by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). Additionally, all engineers are licensed by state engineering licensing boards as professional engineers (PE).
