Farm Equipment

The hazards of farming alone are extensive. The sheer mass of agricultural equipment and facilities in use compound the risk. Unfortunately, we’ve seen time and again how machine design flaws and defective or malfunctioning equipment lead to farming accidents or incidents that result in catastrophic property losses and also injuries and death.

Our engineers have investigated a number of farm-based incidents, including machinery fires and accidents involving combines, cotton pickers, cotton strippers, agricultural tractors, tractor-trailer trucks, feller bunchers and feed grinders. In fact, many of our engineers and consultants have personal expertise in heavy equipment use, mechanics and engineering.

Our work in this area also includes property loss analysis. We evaluate property loss claims to determine the cause of the loss, scope of damage, estimate of repair, depreciation, actual cash value, salvage value and time to repair. Our engineers are also frequently called to serve as expert witnesses by accurately and concisely explaining the unique factors of an incident to an insurance adjuster, attorney, or jury in an easy-to-understand manner.
